Over that weekend, Nick, Martin Peirce (CEO), and James Godden (Sytems Architect) worked closely with SendGrid to investigate the incident thoroughly. After our investigation, we confirmed that <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">approximately 250,000 emails were sent<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> due to this exploit. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Unfortunately, this led to a temporary decline in our email sending <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reputation<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"what_weve_done_to_address_the_issue\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What We\u2019ve Done to Address the Issue<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We\u2019ve already implemented several measures to prevent this from happening again. These include:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Blocking the creation of new trial accounts<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> by temporarily restricting changes to our tenancy database.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">We re-activated customers whose tenancies expired during the weekend, and our team <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">is handling<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> this within our database.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"our_ongoing_commitment\"><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Our Ongoing Commitment<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\r\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While the exploit did not affect any customer data, we have received several emails from recipients (not customers) who were understandably concerned by the spam messages.
